New Windsor Presbyterian Church

Bible Studies

For those of you who hunger and thirst for the Word of God, we offer several opportunities to augment and complement your own personal study of the Scriptures.

Our goals are: that we would all grow in the grace, knowledge, and love of our Savior; that we would be able to distinguish between God’s Truths and Satan’s deceptions; that we would be able to defend our faith clearly and concisely when questioned. We believe "as iron sharpens iron, one man sharpens another" (Prov 27:17).

Sundays, 10:45AM (Sunday School)

Following the Sunday morning service and fellowship time, Bible study begins about 10:45 a.m. This is always an in-depth, verse-by-verse examination of Scripture, one book at a time, and usually alternating between the Old and New Testaments. Study of a particular book may continue for several weeks or several months, depending on the length and complexity of the text.

Each session lasts approximately one hour and is geared to adult and teen worshippers, although mature younger children are certainly welcome. The study is led by elder Chuck Schuster and is informal, encouraging discussion and questions both during and after each lesson.

Sundays, 6:30PM

We entertain consideration and discussion of alternative views of the Scriptures as well as those views expressed by the secular majority of the scientific community. All persons with an interest in learning, or sharing, or even debating this vital topic are encouraged to attend. Our meetings are informal, people come when they can, and are not harassed (too severely) when they can’t make it. We’ve had regulars attending from six different churches in the area, so you needn’t feel you’ll be the outsider… we don’t have any of those in this small-group session.

Our goal in each study is to learn more about our Creator, and our Savior. We pray for the Holy Spirit to be our teacher each night and the study leader to be His facilitator. We shall give special attention to the many models or types of The Christ shown us in Genesis, and will look for Him on each page, for the Law and Prophets were all written of Him (LK24:27).

If you have any questions, please call 410-875-2054 any time during the day or evening. That is the number for elder Steve Manning, who will be leading the study.

Hope to see you there.

Wednesdays, 7:30PM

Still another Bible study opportunity comes at 7:30 on Wednesday evening. This is a special time of prayer, teaching, and fellowship involving folks from four churches. Pastor Paul is currently leading us.

Wednesday evening begins with 15 or 20 minutes of praise and intercessory prayer to our Lord followed by about an hour and a quarter devoted to the study. After the study, we enjoy a time of refreshments and warm fellowship. This study is held either in a participant’s home, or at the New Windsor Church, and refreshments are hosted by those who volunteer on a rotating basis.

Please, join us!

We would love for you to become involved in any or all of these study opportunities. For further information or to find out where the Wednesday evening study is being held, call Elder Steve at 410-875-2054 or Pastor Paul at 410-635-6815.
